1. Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration is music itself. The attainable nature of music that you feel you can but you can’t and the next moment you can and better then hanker after more. Somewhat like the waves at the shore.
2. How has your journey in music been so far?
My journey has been challenging, experimenting, rewarding, enjoyable, and as thrilling as a roller coaster ride.
3. What are the current projects that you are working on,
I have a lot of upcoming concerts and events like the Dealer’s conference of Navana group, live show on radio ABC, South Asian music festival, an open air concert on women's day, and the billat Bangla utsav in London.
I am also currently working on albums with various artists like a remix album with music producer and DJ AKS, a solo track with Fuad and another solo with Djamel from France.
4. What are your future projects?
I aspire working globally, therefore my endeavors run accordingly.
5. What do you think about other musicians currently in the music industry
right now?
Oh! Everyone is a king in their own way. Music is like magic where musician plays a role of a magician. Just like how various auras are made for different types of magic, so does the music its own color and uniqueness. That is what makes the world so colorful, so unique & so entertaining.
6. You received the best Pop & Adhunik singer of the year! How does it feel?
Receiving that award was a bit too special and so was the album. The best of the bests have been working here. I gave my best too. It’s a great feeling and the encouragement is greater. I want to get one every year now!
7. What are your favorite pastimes and interests?
Many. When I feel I need past time I’ll just have to quit work, keep things aside and enjoy time for myself. Talking about interests, studying music interests me a lot, knowing more than I know. At the moment classical music is on top of the list. I take interest on social work, charities and things that help
people. I work with the world food program WFP in their effort for school feeding.
8. What would you like to say to your fans in the Middle East?
I just want to say that “I love you”.
9. Do you have any plans for collaboration Outside Bangladesh?
Most certainly. Music takes the barriers out of geographical maps. The only thing that crosses borders without visas and gets love for loving it. Joining hands only enriches music and soul. I worded with Bikrom Ghosh from India, Djamel from France, AKS from Mumbai and Indro from Kolkata.
I desire to work on. There is a small barrier called finance though. But musicians, like water, know how to mix and mingle and get music to be produced at any cost.
10. How do you see the year 2010 for Mehreen?
I think 2010 is going to be magical!
